With an estimated of 350,000 people enjoying the activities organized for Culture Night 2015, some of the still taking place in several parts of Ireland. This year’s event was the biggest so far: more than 3,000 free events in more than 1,500 venues all across the country hosted art exhibitions, concerts, classes, talks, tours and everything in between.
2015 is the 10th year in which Culture Night is organised, and highlights of the night included a Galway City music trail, live 3D projections on the College of Commerce in Cork, numerours tours of Dublin and arts, crafts and historical exhibitions everywhere.
Dublin City Arts Officer Ray Yeates, sees the event as a plataform to encourage people to get involved in the Irish capital’s bid to become the City of Culture in 2020, an European initiative in which one city gets designated for a year, and during that time, it organises a series of events with a strong European dimension.
