Customs officials have confirmed that they have seized €900,000 worth of illegal cigarettes in Dublin.
The seizure was made following a search of a premises in Newcastle on Thursday.
It is believed that the cigarettes which were branded L&M arrived from Germany.
Officials say the cigarettes would have represented a loss of €720,000 to the Exchequer.
