Miserable weather conditions are set to continue until the middle of next week at least, but early indications show an improvement after that.
Saturday will start off mostly dry and sunny, with just scattered showers across western and northwestern areas, spreading across the country throughout the day.
Sunday is forecast to be a rather wet day, becoming drier towards late evening.
Temperatures will hover around the 13-14C for most of the weekend.
