Dana White, the Chairman and CEO of UFC came out at 1:30am to confirm what many thought was an off-the-cuff joke on Twitter last night when Conor McGregor tweeted that he was retiring. It appears to not be the case however, as the night progressed UFC commentators confirmed McGregor was serious, but none more so than UFC Chairman Dana White himself

White has confirmed that McGregor’s anticipated rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 200 on July 9th this year, will not happen.

He said:
“Conor didn’t want to come to Las Vegas and be part of any promotional training,” White said. “He’s in Iceland training. It doesn’t make you exempt. We spend a lot of money on this stuff. Is Conor McGregor retiring? Only he can answer that question,” White said. “I don’t know. But he will not be a part of UFC 200.”
