Dangling a carrot? Fianna Fail’s Michael McGrath said lockdown is “best possible chance of having a decent Christmas”

Fianna Fail’s Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Michael McGrath appeared to dangle a carrot in front of the Irish people with comments made about Christmas 2020.

McGrath was interviewed by RTE and said that one of the reasons why Ireland has a lockdown and is at Level 5 restrictions is to give people the “best possible chance of having a decent December and a decent Christmas”.

McGrath said on his way into a Cabinet meeting, that there was no room for any complacency but said that he hoped that we can get to that point as the numbers appear to be going in the right direction.
