A number of dead bodies and about three metric tons of rubbish have so far been retrieved from Mount Everest, as a major clean-up operation gets underway at the world’s highest peak.
A 14-strong team aims to collect as much as 10 tons of rubbish and human waste from the site over the next 45 days.
The team have also pinpointed the location of a number of bodies which have emerged after snow and glaciers melted around them.
More than 200 people are known to have died around Mount Everest since records began in 1922.
