Out of touch, ignorant, uncaring, derisive. Call it what you will, but most politician’s ideology and priorities are certainly not centered around the public interest.
This morning, acting minister Simon Coveney has postulated that ‘water is not the biggest issue in most households,’ and that his party is anxious to get a resolution to the impasse soon.
Despite having had no job to go to over the last 60 days, all ministers, TDs and their cohorts, etc., have been receiving full pay, yet we are no closer to having a working government than two months ago.
Mr. Coveney added “So we’re anxious to get on and put that Government together.
“We appreciate the fact that Fianna Fáil have said that they’re willing to facilitate that, because it’s a minority Government situation which is different, but we need to conclude these discussions before that can happen.”
