Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan has said that the advice comes on foot on new intelligence information obtained in recent days. Such information hints at a strong possibility of further terror attacks in the Tunisia area.
The advice follows similar action taken by the British Government, after 30 British citizens and 3 Irish people were killed in a deadly attack in the Sousse beach resort last month.
In a statement, Mr. Flanagan said “we are now encouraging any Irish visitors to Tunisia to review whether their presence in Tunisia is essential and, where it is not, we are advising them to leave by commercial means.”
