The Department of Foreign Affairs have confirmed this afternoon that nine Irish medical students have been involved in a serious road traffic accident in Malawi.
Speaking about the incident a spokesperson for the Department said that they know about the incident and that they are currently working with Malawian officials in order to determine the nine students condition and their well-being.
The spokesperson also said counselling assistance is being provided to the students families.
