Despicable: A bouncer has been accused of raping a woman after claiming he would drive her home

Samuel Garland, a 26-yr-old bouncer from Honiton, Devon in the UK is on trial for the rape of one woman and the sexual assault of another. A court heard the bouncer claimed he would drive the women home, but they allege he assaulted them on a park bench in Exeter and only stopped when a couple playing Pokemon Go walked past.
He is also alleged to have offered another young woman a lift home, before pulling over in a layby and sexually assaulting her, Exeter Crown Court heard.

The two attacks happened two weeks apart in July of this year, but Garland insists both women were consensual in the acts.

He said: ‘He started pulling at her dress and asking her about her bra and if he could kiss her. He asked ‘what do I get if I take you home’.
‘He drove up the motorway and stopped in a secluded area by Tiverton Parkway station. He made forceful sexual advances towards her in the car.

‘She told the police she tried to stop him and told him ‘I don’t know you’. He told her unless she took her dress off she would have to get out of the car and he would leave her there with no way of getting home.
‘In desperation, she did take her dress off. He pushed her seat back and climbed into the footwell. He pestered her to let him have sex but she said no.
‘He assaulted her and she was too scared to fight back. He was very forceful and very rough.’

The court heard that both women felt their life was in danger and that the events understandably had an adverse reaction on their entire life.
