POLL Results: Here’s the results on whether our readers will go to see Pope Francis when he visits here in 2018 – the results may surprise you!

We recently asked you whether you will go to see Pope Francis when he visits Ireland in 2018.

When Pope John Paul II visited Ireland in 1979, over 1 million people attended and open air mass in the Phoenix park while another 260,000 attended an open air mass in Monasterboice, County Louth.

The historic visit will see Pope Francis make the first Papal visit to Ireland in some 39 years… and the results may surprise you.

We left the poll open for an extra week or two and we have received over 20,000 votes.

With an overwhelming “win” for the Yes side coming out at at 56% of people saying, Yes, they are looking forward to and will be going to see Pope Francis in 2018.

That means roughly 560,000 for the Phoenix Park and 144,000 for County Louth will come out to see the popular Pontiff. The results are below:
