Despite the fact that Ukraine is one of the most corrupt nations on earth and with its comedian turned president Zelensky having outlawed free speech, criminalised political dissent and banned his political opposition, including some of the largest parties in parliament, the EU still intends to admit the country into membership.
The unelected President of the European Commision, who disgraced herself as German Defence Minister before being selected for the top job in Brussels declared at her “State of the Union” address, a bizarre mimicry of the US President’s annual address to Congress,
“I want the people of the Western Balkans, of Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia to know: You are part of our family, your future is in our Union, and our Union is not complete without you!”
von der Leyen, who was ironically facing serious criminal investigation for corruption at the time of her departure from the German Defence Minister for the EU Commision Presidency is unconcerned with the wishes of the citizenry of the bloc’s vassal states.
This is unsurprising however, as she and the rest of the European Commision, along with the shadowy mass of technocrats and bureaucrats behind them are selected not elected and therefore free to pursue their own super-state agenda regardless of the will of the people.
