Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proudly addressed the world at the United Nations meeting and asked for ‘just punishment’ for Russia’s crimes and atrocities.
During his historic speech, the wartime leader laid out five non-negotiable conditions for peace. These include punishment for Russian aggression, restoration of Ukraine’s security, territorial integrity, and security guarantees.
At the end of the speech, those congregated at the hall stood up for an ovation, though the Russian delegation conspicuously did not.
Such reaction contrasts starkly with that to disgraced former President Donald Trump, whose boastful speech at the United Nations meeting in 2018 only elicited a concerted outburst of laughter from those in attendance. Including the Russians.
