Pat Hickey has reportedly been granted a loan to pay for his bail.
The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) is said to be putting forward the required €410,000 required so Mr. Hickey can get his passport back.
Pat Hickey has been detained in Brazil since being accused of involvement in a ticket touting scandal that marred the participation of Irish athletes in the Rio Olympics during the summer.
According to the ANOC, “the payment was made as a temporary loan so that Patrick Hickey could meet his bail requirements and return to Ireland where he can receive medical treatment for a heart condition.”
