Former boss of the Olympic Committee of Ireland Pat Hickey remains under observation in a Rio hospital this morning, after taking ill during his arrest yesterday. His condition is described as ‘stable.’
It is understood that the 71-year-old man complained of chest pains shortly after being taken into custody, and was taken into hospital as a precaution. Mr. Hickey does have a medical history of cardiac issues.
He was arrested in a hotel room in Rio as part of the investigation into a ticket touting scandal allegedly involving the OCI and some associated enterprises.
