A two-year-old girl has been banned from attending a nursery after staff claimed that her deformed skull would scare other children.
According to The Daily Mail newspaper, the innocent child Sofya Zakharova, who was born with a skull deformity and her fingers and toes fused together was refused entry to the nursery after staff said her appearance would scare other children attending the nursery.
The incident which occurred in Bashkortostan, Russia, has gained widespread coverage and is being investigated by officals who have said Sofya and her parents rights have been violated.
It is reported in local media that Sofya’s mother was told by staff that her daughter would require an operation before she could be given a place at the nursery.
The case which has left Sofya’s parents deeply upset has also been picked up by a local charity called Rainbow of Goodness who have pleaded Sofya’s case for a place at the nursery.
However unfortunately their pleas have also been rejected by staff.
Officals investigating the incident say the case will now undergo a legal assessment in order to determine whether or not Sofya will be allowed to attend the nursery.
