Parents left outraged after their 5-yr-old autistic son is put on record for hugging and kissing a fellow classmate

A family in the US have been left outraged after their 5-year-old autistic son was reportedly put on record as a sex offender after he hugged and kissed a fellow classmate.

According to WTVC, the parents of little Nathan Putnam have been left angered and confused as to why their son has been accused of over stepping boundaries by his teachers.

The claims come after Nathan reportedly kissed and hugged a fellow classmate at East Ridge Elementary in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

It is alleged that teachers told Nathan’s guardian Summery Putnham that he had been accused of sexual activities and crossing boundaries for what he had done.

However the upset mum told reporters that her son hasn’t crossed any boundaries as he doesn’t understand what is doing wrong.

Meanwhile a Nathan’s grandmother Debi Amick, questioned why staff would accuse her grandson and put his name on record saying that he comprehends and functions differently than any other five-year-old.

She also questioned the school as to why they wouldn’t listen to the family and doctor who explained his difficulties in understanding boundaries.

However the Hamilton County Department of Education gave defended the school’s decision saying that school’s are entitled to report any concerns they have in regards to a child’s behaviour.
