Work on a housing site in Cherry Orchard has been halted this morning after a JCB driver was covered in petrol yesterday.
The disgraceful attack which occurred on Orchard Lawns yesterday left the JCB driver badly shaken after he thankfully managed to escape without any major injuries despite his cab being set on fire.
The attack comes after a dispute has broken out over the building on the site which was previously earmarked for social housing in 2008.
Gardaí say the particular site has attracted anti-social activity in recent years after City councillors agreed to a plan for a €12m development of 72 three-bed homes by Co-Operative Housing Ireland
