Do you believe it? Support for Fine Gael has increased in latest poll




Support for the Social Democrats and Fine Gael has risen in the latest Sunday Independent and Ireland Thinks opinion poll.

The Social Democrats are up three points to a record 12% following their Dublin Central by-election victory, while Fine Gael has gained two points and now sits at 19%, reports Breaking News.

Sinn Féin remains the country’s most popular party on 20% despite shedding two points, with Fianna Fáil down one point to 16%.

Independent Ireland is on 9%, with Aontú on 6%, reports Breaking News.

Labour and the Green Party are each on 3%, with People Before Profit on 2%.

Independents and others are on 10%, reports Breaking News.

The poll also shows housing remains the biggest concern among voters, while concern about immigration has risen sharply ahead of the introduction of the EU Migration and Asylum Pact the following week.

When asked which ministers had performed best under the current Government, Jim O’Callaghan ranked highest at 22%, followed by Jennifer Carroll MacNeill on 11%, reports Breaking News.
