Donegal Gardai’s controversial Covid “RAT LINE” has been cancelled after 60% of calls were found not to be breaches of covid laws

There was uproar when the Gardai in Donegal thought it was a good idea to set up and market what has been dubbed a “COVID RAT LINE” two weeks ago.

But good news for Donegal as the line has now been cancelled.

Calls that it was like something out of Nazi Germany and discriminatory towards Donegal locals were heard across the airwaves and social media.

In the first week of the line, a total of 67 calls were received but 60% of these calls found no breaches of Covid regulations when investigated by gardai.
Inquiries are ongoing into a further 21 of these calls. Just two hoax calls were received, reports the Irish Examiner.
