RTE has confounded that they are to seek extra voluntary redundancies in an effort to cut costs.
In an announcement the national broadcaster said that it is seeking an excess of the 60 redundancies already planned.
RTE say they are seeking the extra redundancies after staff rejected initial pay cut reccomendations.
The broadcaster also say they are looking to surpress posts and not to replace retirees with new staff.
The news comes as the broadcaster is looking to cut costs by €60m by 2023.
