The ISPCA is appealing for the owner of the featured donkey to come forward, after the beast was found with severely overgrown hooves, causing pain and mobility impairment.
The animal was rescued after an anonymous tip-off, and was brought to the Equine Rescue Centre in Mallow, where it was examined by a vet.
The donkey is in generally good health, apart from the hooves, which were trimmed at the centre. It will now be transferred to the Donkey Sanctuary, where the creature will live the rest of its life to its fullest.
