Don’t forget the sunscreen – Ireland to bask in sunshine with Met Eireann issuing heatwave warning

There really is nowhere like Ireland on a sunny day and it appears that’s exactly what we have in store for today, tomorrow and much of the weekend.

The national forecaster Met Eireann has issued a high temperature warning for six counties for today – but that could increase as the weather unfolds and the day progresses.

Currently, the weather warning has initially been issued for the following six counties, Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick with temperatures expected to reach up to 29c with full sunshine.

It’s issued to start from 1pm today until at least 7pm this evening.

Elsewhere, beautiful temperatures are in store with minimums of 20c to 24c with widespread sunshine.
