Gardai have confirmed that 10 people were arrested on Christmas Day on suspicion of drink driving on the day itself.
Many of those arrested wouldn’t provide a sample breath test when stopped by gardai.
It’s understood that a further 12 people were arrested up to 9am on St. Stephen’s morning.
Gardai will be out in force over the Christmas holidays with a number of checkpoints set up over the New Year.
