Over 100 people were evacuated from an apartment block in Camden Quay, Cork city, after a fire broke out inside a fast food outlet located in the ground floor.
Several units of the Cork Fire Brigade brought the blaze under control quickly, and no personal injuries were reported.
Traffic restrictions were in place for a time to facilitate clean up operations.
Gardai are treating the fire as accidental.
