Dr Tony Holohan says latest indications suggest that we have stabilised or suppressed outbreak but we must keep up our efforts




The Chief Medical officer Dr Tony Holohan has said that latest data has suggested that we have stabilised or suppressed the Covid-19 outbreak, but warned that we must keep up our efforts.

Speaking on Friday evening, Dr Holohan said that the public’s efforts up until now have proved effective in terms of tackling the growth of the virus.

However despite the encouraging signs Dr Holohan said that we must continue to adhere to social distancing measures in order to flatten the curve even further.

Dr Holohan who stressed the importance of the current restrictions also said that the latest findings is a testament to the public for their efforts over the past number of weeks.

He added without those efforts we would have lost many more lives over the last number of weeks.
