Dr Tony Holohan thanks public for their solidarity over the past 18 months

The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has thanked the public for their solidarity over the past 18 months.

In a statement Dr Holohan acknowledged that the pandemic has placed a burden on many people’s lives over the past year and a half and he said that he would like to thank the public for their continued efforts.

Dr Holohan said the public’s solidarity has helped prevent the spread of Covid-19, whilst their willingness to get a Covid-19 vaccine was the envy of other countries as Ireland has one of the highest uptake across Europe.
