It’s the second year in a row for Drogheda, Co. Louth to host the Fleadh but the weather isn’t as good as it was this time last year so numbers mightn’t exceed expectations.
However, it’s about to get busy in Ireland’s biggest town! Drogheda is hosting the Fleadh Cheoil again with an estimated 600,000 extra people expected to stay in and around the town from today until the 19th.
Permits are needed as roads will be cut off going in and out of the town with shuttle buses bringing people in from around a 1 mile radius.
It’s understood that the Fleadh have organised their own security to check permits rather than having a strong garda presence.
