The driver of Dublin bus number 16, received a round of applause yesterday following a complete random act of kindness he extended to a blind man.

The bus stopped near Beaumont yesterday afternoon. The passengers on board thought it was just a usual traffic jam, until they realised what was really happening.

The kind driver was helping a blind gentleman get off the bus. The passengers witnessed the driver stop the bus on a busy Santry Road and link the blind man, who had a white cane, off the bus and then right up to the blind gentleman’s front door.

He then waited and made sure the blind man got into his house safely and watched until his front door was closed.

The driver got back on the bus and said to the passengers “sorry about that” to which he received a rapturous round of applause.

One passenger told The Liberal:
“An extremely kind and nice gesture, it just goes to show that’s there still some nice people out there.
