Dublin City Council announce plans to pedestrianise College Green

Dublin City Council has recently unveiled its ambitious new plans to pedestrianise College Green.

It is understood under the new proposals the College Green will be turned into a massive plaza that will be closed to traffic, that will see a massive open area in front of the Bank of Ireland and the front gate of Trinity College.

Although it is believed that public transport along with taxis will be allowed to drive through but private cars will be forbidden from entering the zone.

Under the new proposals the nearby Suffolk Street will also be pedestrianised, with access being limited to loading before 11am.

The new proposals have been made public and consultation with the public to begin early next month.
