Dublin City Council greenlights the construction of a hotel and co-living block in the Liberties area of the city, despite grave objections

Dublin City Council has given the go-ahead to the construction of a hotel and a co-living block in the Liberties area of the city, despite grave objections.

Building of an eight-floors, 144-bedroom hotel and a 69-unit build-to-rent co-living block will commence when conditions allow.

The plan had been strongly opposed by local politicians, particularly singling out the co-living aspect, which many consider a return to tenement-like dwellings dressed as ‘hip’ living spaces for young professionals.
