Lee Fierro, the actress who played the role of Mrs. Kintner in Jaws (1975), has sadly passed away after testing positive for Covid-19.
Fierro’s part in the well-known thriller was brief but significant. The former actress and drama teacher played the mother of Alex Kintner, the young boy who dies after being attacked while paddling on an inflatable dinghy. Later, she approaches Chief Brody (Roy Schreider) and slaps him hard, accusing him of letting people go back in the water knowing that there might be a dangerous shark around, and implying that he’s directly responsible for her son’s death. The incident prompts Brody to issue an immediate closure order for Amity’s beaches.
Fierro passed away from complications arising from Covid-19, aged 91.
