Dublin clamping fees: The tills keep ringing

clamping

Clamping is indeed a profitable business for Dublin City Council.

It has been revealed that fees brought in a cool €4.24 million for the body during 2014.

The council issued 56,601 so-called “parking enforcements” last year. This includes “vehicle immobilisation”, an euphemism for good old fashion clamping.

Across Dubin city, parking tickets are issued by An Garda Siochána, rather than the council itself.

Top of the list for offenders is Merrion Square West, with 733 “enforcements”. In second place, Mespil Road (720), followed by Ormond Quay Upper (656).

Be careful out there.
