Dublin drivers are deemed the worst for driving without insurance in the country.

This is according to figures from the Department of Transport, revealing that a quarter (25%) of all offences are caused by Dublin drivers.

These offences were related to lack of NCT and insurance.

20% of all penalty points awarded in the country were given in Dublin.

Driving without proper insurance or not having had an NCT carried out was the third most frequent offence.

Motor insurance has increased 32% in price and over 50% in total in four years and according to Fianna Fail jobs spokesperson Dara Calleary it is putting “a massive strain on family finances and is completely unsustainable”.
