A man has been left with serious injuries after an assault that took place in Finglas, Co Dublin.

The incident was reported to Gardaí shortly after it occurred with the man reportedly getting into an altercation near a bus stop.

The injured man, who is in his 70s, was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the attack.

Gardaí have confirmed that an investigation into the matter remains ongoing, reports Breaking News.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have captured the incident on video to avoid sharing it on social media or through messaging apps.

Instead, they are urging people to provide any footage directly to officers at Finglas Garda Station, reports Breaking News.
