Dublin is safe: Young man hospitalised in Dublin with life threatening injuries following alleged stabbing




A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a suspected stabbing incident in Dublin, reports The Mirror.

Gardaí responded to the scene after the incident occurred at approximately 8:30pm on Monday evening on James Joyce Street in Dublin. Video footage viewed by Dublin Live shows a man lying on the ground as several individuals attempt to assist him.

Emergency responders provided medical aid at the scene before the man was transferred to the Mater Hospital, where he is being treated for what was perceived initially as long-threatening injuries but was later deemed as non-life-threatening injuries, reports The Mirror.

A significant Garda presence remained at the location as the area was cordoned off on Monday night for a forensic examination. Gardaí have stated that investigations are continuing.

A Garda spokesman said: “Shortly after 8:30pm on Monday, 14 July 2025, Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident on James Joyce Street, Dublin 1. An adult male sustained injuries during the course of the incident. He received treatment at the scene and was subsequently transported by ambulance to the Mater Hospital. His injuries are understood to be serious but not life-threatening. The scene has been preserved for forensic examination and investigations are currently ongoing,” reports The Mirror.
