Dublin man died in court holding cell after being denied prescribed medication

According to a report posted on the Department of Justice website on Friday, a 42-year-old man fell and died in a holding cell at the Criminal Courts of Justice, seconds after he asked prison guards for medication he needed that had been stashed in a locker, reports The Mirror.

The man was taken into custody following a minor traffic incident that prompted gardaĆ to search the PULSE database.

This search turned up a bench warrant for the man’s non-appearance in court around ten years prior, reports The Mirror.

He had never been to jail or prison, and before his arrest, he had been hospitalized for a cardiac problem, which had caused him to be in bad health.
