Dublin man speaks out after getting threatened by gang who stole tools from his shed

A Dublin father who was assaulted by a gang said they’re terrorising Tallaght. The man was punched and threatened to be “shanked” after he confronted them about allegedly stealing his gardening tools.

Dublin Live reported that the father confronted the “20-strong gang of 14 to 16-year-olds” over the theft of his tools but was set up in in a vicious attack while he was threatened with being stabbed.

The tools had been stolen from the Dubliner’s shed and he found himself being punched in the back of the head and surrounded by the gang when he approached them about the theft.

The term “shank” was used and is common parlance in US prisons and means to stab someone, often with an improvised weapon. The same slang was heard during the brutal stabbing attack on a teenage boy in Cork last Saturday.

Ireland has been rocked in recent days by videos of brutal gang violence and attacks on young, lone Irish teens from Cork to Limerick to Drogheda.
