A Dublin woman who allegedly killed her two-year-old son in south Dublin last week, has been admitted to the Central Mental Hospital.

Hazel Waters was due to appear in court charged with murdering the toddler at their home in Ridge Hall, Ballybrack Dublin. Little Hassan Khan’s body was discovered in an apartment at the Ridge Hall complex in Ballybrack on Thursday afternoon. Forensic reports suggest that little Hassan  was stabbed to death sometime between Wednesday and Thursday.

Ms Waters was brought to court on Saturday charged with his murder. However during the short hearing, Ms Waters solicitor told the court that she did not want to be assessed by a psychiatrist.
Although the court strongly ruled an assessment should be take place whilst she is in custody.

Ms Waters was due to appear in court again this morning but Judge Michael Walsh was told she has since been admitted to the Central Mental Hospital. It is believed that she was moved there from the women’s prison at Mountjoy yesterday. Her case is now adjourned for a further two weeks in her absence.
