Dublin Zoo has so far received €2m in donations, following a recent announcement that the well-known attraction might have to close for good.
The ongoing pandemic means that Dublin Zoo has been shut for some time, with no income from visitors, while still spending money in animal feed, upkeep, staff wages, etc.
And while homeless people die on Irish streets almost on a weekly basis, Taoiseach appointee Micheal Martin said that the Government ‘would do everything it can’ to keep the zoo open.
