The Minister for Transport and Green Party leader Eamon Ryan has said the recent event at the Merrion Hotel has undermined public confidence.
Speaking to RTE, Ryan said that the Tanaiste’s appearance at an event along with his own appearance at a separate event at the Merrion Cricket Club shouldn’t have happened.
Ryan said that in hindsight that both his and the Tanaiste’s actions have undermined public confidence and anything that does that doesn’t help.
Although the Green Party leader said he wished he and the Tanaiste didn’t attend those events, he did reiterate that they will try restore public confidence by making sure we get the further reopening of the country right.
