The Minister for Education Norma Foley has said that it is the Government’s firm intention to reopen schools on the 11th of January.
Speaking to RTE News, Foley said that although the Government decided to keep schools closed for an extra few days, the Minister for Education said it wasn’t based on NPHET advice.
Foley said the decision was made to give families extra time to restrict their movements and reduce their social contacts.
