Jan O’Sullivan, Minister for Education, has reiterated her call for teachers unions not to engage in the planned strike action next Tuesday.
Second-level schools are due to close for the day as teachers protest against planned changes to the Junior Cycle.
She described the strike as “disappointing and disproportionate’’.
On her way in to the AGM of the Education and Training Boards, the Minister said she still hoped Tuesday’s strike would not go ahead.
