Eir has this morning announced a substantial investment on a new Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband network, to be rolled out over the next five years.
Ireland has consistently lagged behind the rest of Europe in terms of broadband quality and reach, so Eir’s plans will be the first step in for a solution to that issue.
Eir expects that the FTTH infrastructure will enable an extra 1.4m households across the country to have a fast and solid internet connection.
