A man in his 80s was killed when the car he was driving struck a ditch.
The accident occurred at around 9.30am this Wednesday morning on the R439, Banagher to Birr road, at an area known locally as Taylor’s Cross. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and was removed to the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore.
