The eldest son of former Cuban leader Fidel Castro has died after he committed suicide it has been confirmed.
According to the Cubadebate website Castro’s eldest son Fidel (Fidelito) Diaz Castro-Balart 68, died in the early hours of Thursday morning after he committed suicide.
Although it is not known how ‘Fidelito’ killed himself, it has been reported that he was receiving treatment for profound depression in the past few months.
Fidel Diaz’s death comes just over a year since his father and former Cuban President Fidel died at the age of 90.
