Hot on the heels of Labour’s promise to raise the minimum wage to €11.30 an hour, Fine Gael have this afternoon revealed their long-term economic plans.
According to it, and always trying to up the ante on Labour, the plan would create 200,000 jobs over the next 5 years, as well as doing away with the USC, and hiring 10,000 extra nurses, Gardai, and teachers.
While unveiling the document, Enda Kenny could not help poking derision at his arch enemies in Fianna Fail and Sinn Fein, saying that if either one of them got into government, “the recovery would come to a shuddering halt with their high tax and spend policies.”
The farce continues.
