Joan Burton says “no seat is safe” in the election, except arrogantly claiming her own seat is safe

The leader of the Labour Party, Joan Burton is beginning to face the facts – her Party is about to effectively disappear from the Irish political landscape.

To say that the Labour Party has been a loser in this coalition government is an understatement of gargantuan proportions.

Joan Burton told Newstalk yesterday: “It is really the month of living dangerously and you have to be very robust and very tough”.
“On certain issues, Fine Gael has converted, yes, to the Labour Party view – they now accept that the USC was a second income tax and that its reform is a vital part of our recovery in the future.”

Burton went on to say: “No seat is safe in this election for any party”, but when asked if her own seat was safe, she replied: “Absolutely”.

Political scientists, who have been assessing polls right throughout the country for the past week, have said that at the very most there are 3 safe Labour seats in the country.

This essentially means, out of 36 seats – the Irish Labour Party will cease to exist in any meaningful sense.
