In the new political landscape that’s emerging where the Irish Labour Party will effectively cease to exist, it is very likely Gerry Adams will be in the running for either Taoiseach or Tanasite.

However, the question on whether Gerry will be too old for this office has now emerged. Social media users claimed last night after the Leaders Debate on TV3 that he looked “too old to be Taoiseach”, and “he was exhausted looking at the end of the debate”.

An independent voter from Kerry made the observation that Gerry had been shot in Belfast in the 1980s in a similar shooting to the gangland shooting in Dublin’s Regency hotel last Friday week, and that the on-going rape of Gerry’s niece by his brother Liam would all have taken a “hard toll on Gerry but emotionally and physically”.

The increased pressure of Mary Lou McDonald on forcing Adams out of the Sinn Fein front seat isn’t going down well with voters either.

Social media commentator Noel Devine said: “There’s a major internal row with the Sinn Fein voter, some claim Gerry is too old for the job, others say Mary Lou should take his place”.

Meanwhile, Tanaiste Joan Burton and Taoiseach Enda Kenny took an absolute pounding last night in the Leaders Debate over their dismal record in government.
