The above smile could very well be wiped off Leo Varadkar’s face when he actually has to win an election as Taoiseach rather than just be a media darling and elected from his own party.
The gravy train is to take a stop next May after Varadkar announced that next May will be the right time for an election.
The unelected ruler of Ireland has already discussed the idea with his Fianna Fail counterpart, Micheal Martin, who perhaps coincidentally, perhaps not, said today that he’s ready for his go at the Taoiseach job.
A disorderly Brexit may throw all these plans in disarray, however, so stay tuned for updates.
